An ADGA Performance Pedigree is built over time through accurate pedigree information and participation in ADGA performance programs. Each record added to an animal’s history helps provide a clearer picture of its individual performance and genetic potential.
Production records, Linear Appraisal scores, DNA-verified parentage, and genetic evaluations work together to make pedigrees more meaningful. These records allow breeders to look beyond an animal’s name and ancestry and evaluate the demonstrated performance found throughout its pedigree.
The quality of the information depends on member participation. When breeders submit complete and accurate records, they strengthen not only their own herd data but also the information available across the dairy goat industry.
Building a Stronger Performance Pedigree
Breeders can contribute by:
